Motorcycle Brake Pads

Structure and Principle

Composed of friction materials and a back plate. When the motorcycle brakes, the brake caliper pushes the brake pads through the piston, making the friction materials closely contact with the brake disc. It converts the kinetic energy of the motorcycle into heat energy by using friction, thereby slowing down the wheels until they stop.

Materials

Friction materials usually include organic materials, semi – metallic materials, ceramic materials and other types. Organic brake pads have low noise and good braking performance but wear quickly; semi – metallic brake pads have good wear resistance and strong braking force but may produce relatively large noise; ceramic brake pads have the advantages of high temperature resistance, wear resistance and stable braking performance.

Applications

They are key components of the motorcycle braking system, directly affecting the braking effect and driving safety of the motorcycle. They are widely used in various types of motorcycles, including street bikes, sports bikes, off – road bikes, cruisers, etc.
