Valve Stem Seal
Structure and Principle
Usually a simple rubber sealing ring, installed between the valve stem and the valve guide. It uses the elasticity and sealing property of rubber to prevent engine oil from entering the combustion chamber through the gap between the valve stem and the valve guide when the valve stem reciprocates.
Materials
Mainly made of rubber or fluoroelastomer and other materials, which have good oil resistance and high temperature resistance, and can maintain stable sealing performance in the high-temperature and high-pressure environment of the engine.
Applications
Mainly used in the valve mechanism of automobile engines, and is an important part of the engine valve train. It ensures the normal combustion process of the engine and the control of engine oil consumption, and reduces problems such as carbon deposition and excessive emissions caused by engine oil entering the combustion chamber.
