Skeleton Oil Seal

Structure and Principle

Typically composed of a metal skeleton and a rubber sealing lip. The metal skeleton plays a role in supporting and maintaining the shape, while the rubber lip is used for sealing. It forms a sealing barrier by closely contacting the surface of the rotating or reciprocating shaft, preventing lubricating oil leakage.

Materials

Common materials include nitrile rubber (NBR), fluoroelastomer (Viton/FKM), silicone rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), etc. These materials have good oil resistance, heat resistance and wear resistance.

Applications

Widely used in automobile engines, gearboxes, axles and other parts, as well as pumps, compressors, reducers and other equipment in industrial machinery. It is used to seal rotating shafts, preventing lubricating oil leakage and the entry of external contaminants.
