Valve Cover Gasket

Structure and Principle

It is a sheet – like gasket, usually placed between the valve cover and the engine cylinder head. By tightening the bolts, the valve cover and the cylinder head are tightly combined. It uses the elastic deformation of the gasket to fill the tiny gaps on the joint surface, achieving the sealing function and preventing engine oil leakage.

Materials

Early vehicles commonly used cork materials, and now most use rubber, silicone rubber or synthetic rubber and other materials, which have better sealing performance, oil resistance and anti – aging performance.

Applications

Used in automobile engines, its main function is to seal the valve chamber, preventing engine oil from leaking to the outside of the engine. It also helps maintain the cleanliness and normal working environment inside the engine, avoiding pollution and damage to other engine components caused by engine oil leakage.
